11 things ‘Nobody Wants This’ Taught Us About Love
I admit, I was skeptical about the hype, but I’ve watched Nobody Wants This twice 😂. (Next binge watch will be Jilly Cooper Rivals, which gives off a very different vibe 👠)
And we’re all obsessed.
For me, this series hit differently, because it’s a representation of a different kind of love: one where you’re a little bit older, where healthy communication is prioritised, and people have to make huge decisions. It's not a fairytale. There's no chasing the unavailable guy. He sees her and she sees him.
I also think it touched so many people because it shone a light on our fears and vulnerabilities…
💛 That you’re not too much, that someone can see you, and love you for who you are.
💛 That it’s ok to be vulnerable with the right person
💛 That we want the kind of relationship where we can bear our soul and still be supported
💛 That love doesn’t have to happen in your 20’s and like a fairytale.
SO, here are 11 things that we can all learn and be reminded of (most of which I personally went through!)
👉 Someone will come along and love you for all the reasons you thought they might not
👉 Keep being yourself
👉 Love doesn’t always come in the package/ form you expect
👉 We need to be open to the unexpected and allow for surprises
👉 Timing plays a helluva role
👉 Relationships are built through healthy communication, compromise and vulnerability
👉 It might not always be plain sailing, but communication is key
👉 You can get past the ick
👉 Family/ friends might not always love the changes a new relationship brings
👉 It’s ok to get carried away and then change your mind
👉 Practicality, goals and life vision play a huge part in long term success
What are your thoughts on it?
