How to navigate cuffing season!

'Tis the season where suddenly it seems the whole world and their dog want to be snuggling down with spiced lattes, drinking red wine and taking #couplegoal pics at Winter Wonderland.

Due to a variety of reasons, usually from Oct - March, during the darker, colder months, people can long for a relationship. Dating apps might be busier (Tinder reports 68% of users are optimistic about finding a relationship this Autumn/ Winter) and colleagues might suddenly appear more attractive at the Christmas party.

SO, here are five tips to navigate it so you don't lose your head (or snog your boss).

πŸ‘‰ Don't let the dark nights and cold mornings influence your desire to be in a relationship, so you end up settling or acting from that place of desperation. Feeling like you 'need' a relationship out of loneliness can often result in lowering our standards.

πŸ‘‰ If you are dating, make sure it's intentional and be clear about what you’re seeking in the long and short term. Keep communicating through out and checking in on how you feel.

πŸ‘‰  Accept that you might get all misty eyed about your ex when you see couples holding hands at winter wonderland. This is normal, especially at Christmas, but it is not a reason to text them.

πŸ‘‰ Keep celebrating being single, stepping into gratitude for where you are and what you have! Put all of your energy and attention and time back on YOU and keep doing the things you love.

πŸ‘‰ Give dating apps a rest if you're not feeling it, and approach with good energy and intention, if you are.

πŸ‘‰ Keep taking things slow, even if it feels natural to jump straight to the nights in and constant contact.
