6 SNEAKY SIGNS YOUR SELF-ESTEEM IS SABOTAGING YOUR LOVE LIFE
Not sure if this sounds familiar, but I spent years trying to fix my life by focussing on the external. If I lost weight, moved jobs, went travelling, got the boyfriend, I'd finally be happy and feel better about myself
It wasn't until I got serious about getting myself out of the toxic sh*t show that was my love life, did I realise a big fat truth:
It didn't matter what I changed on the outside, until I dealt with what was going on internally. Because it turned out that I didn't actually like myself. And this meant each action I took was based on the belief that I wasn't good enough and worthy of love. Therefore I did things like:
❗️Partied to numb out of how I was feeling
❗️ Controlled food and exercise to the extreme
❗️ Compared myself to my friends and always felt one step behind
❗️Accepted crappy behaviour from guys and situationships
❗️ I didn't respect myself and was attracted to guys who didn't either.
But because on the outside I looked alright, had friends, a job and weekly dating updates, it was bloody hard to spot the signs of how my self-esteem was running riot.
SO, here are six self-esteem habits that will be sabotaging your happiness!
👉 You people please, struggle to say no and mould yourself to what others want
👉 You believe the critical voice in your head that tells you it won’t happen, your not good enough and not to trust
👉 You have low standards for how others treat you and how you treat yourself. You might not think you deserve all the good you do!
👉 You struggle to accept compliments or people doing nice things for you
👉 You overcompensate to try and make people like you and convince them you’re good enough
👉 You avoid social situations, dating and stepping out of your comfort zone to avoid rejection
The good news is all of these habits can be changed through addressing three things. Your awareness, belief system and action taken.
Myself and Carly are so determined this year to help people change how they feel about themselves and find that inner contentment and glow.
So not only have we released a brand-new podcast on this topic, but we also have a brand-spanking new programme, GLOW 💫
